Membership Benefits
If you would like join the Direct Care Foundation, please know that membership brings with it a number of valuable benefits, including giving you a chance to help support the spread of the direct-care payments model.
Benefits include:
- Access to Resources: Our members have access to a wealth of informational resources, including a complimentary subscription to The Direct Care Newsletter.
- Support for Direct Care Providers: By joining, you will be helping to support Direct Care providers, including advocacy for open-practice laws, efforts to reduce administrative burdens, and initiatives to improve the overall practice environment for Direct Care doctors and nurses.
- Community and Networking: Membership connects you with a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about patient-centered care. This network can be a valuable source of support, collaboration, and shared knowledge.
- Policy Updates and Alerts: Stay informed about legislative and regulatory changes that impact Direct Care.
- Educational Events and Conferences: Members are "in the know" with respect to educational events, webinars, and conferences focused on Direct Care. These events provide opportunities for learning, networking, and engaging with thought leaders.
- Recognition and Credibility: Being a member of a reputable nonprofit like the Direct Care Foundation enhances your credibility and demonstrates your commitment to advancing the Direct Care model. This can be beneficial for both patients and providers within the Direct Care community.
Membership Types
The Direct Care Foundation currently has two types of membership that each cost $12 per year: General Membership and Patient Membership.
- Anyone who is 18 years of age or older can apply for General Membership.
- By contrast, to qualify for Patient Membership, you must be at least 18 years of age and either currently under the care of a Direct Primary Care physician or expecting to be under the care of a Direct Primary Care physician within 60 days.
Patient Membership comes with the opportunity to apply for Atlas Direct insurance, which is a limited-benefits fixed-indemnity healthcare plan tailored to the needs of Direct Primary Care patients.
